Tyliek Anthony Spence, of Waldorf was wanted by police in Maryland on a warrant for homicide issued by the Circuit Court for Charles County Maryland on July 23.
Spence was originally arrested in March after being identified as one two suspects who shot and killed Daniel McClellan-Givens, 17, Nov. 3, 2020 in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Amber Leaf Place in Waldorf, Maryland.
Anthony Edward Small, 21, of Capitol Heights was the arrested as the other suspect and was charged him with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and other related charges, according to WUSA9.
When Spence was first captured on March 10 he was detained by detectives in Oklahoma where he was arrested after fleeing over 1300 miles.
He was extradited to Charles County on March 19 were he was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit robbery, and other related charges.
Three days later, Spence was released on his own recognizance.
A new warrant was issued on July 23 after he failed to appear for his court date.
Spence was next spotted in central Pennsylvania where police found him speeding on Aug. 1.
Officer's pursued the vehicle through Carlisle Borough to Waggoner's Gap Road also known as Route 74, where Spence drove at speeds exceeding 80 MPH as he fled from police in Cumberland County.
Due to safety concerns to the public, the pursuit was halted but the vehicle Spence fled in was seen in the driveway of a home on Enola Road where Spence was begging the homeowner for gasoline.
When police arrived he attempted to flee on foot but a perimeter was set up with the assistance of the Carlisle Borough Police Department, K-9, Middlesex Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police Aviation.
After several hours and multiple road closures he was arrested along the 600 block of North Middleton Road.
Once he was identified police learned of the homicide warrant in Maryland.
He was taken to UPMC Carlisle hospital to be evaluated and was cleared.
He has been held in Cumberland County prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
He has been charged with the following in Pennsylvania and will face additional charges in Maryland:
- F3 Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer
- M2 Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforce
- M2 Recklessly Endangering Another Person
- M2 Unauthorized Use Motor/Other Vehicles
- M3 False Identification To Law Enforcement Officer
His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 16 at 10 a.m.
Once he is extradited back to Maryland he will face charges for homicide, firearm use, violent crime, firearm use in a violent crime, robbery, robbery and theft charges.
